The US Open was a family affair for Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, who brought their two daughters, Hazel, 9, and Violet, 6, to watch a tennis match on Friday.
The four-member family (Emily Blunt and John Krasinski Family) was seen enjoying the thrilling games at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City. The 40-year-old Blunt was particularly expressive throughout the event, often cheering and shouting enthusiastically.
The children seemed to be having a great time, sipping on drinks and embracing their parents.
Violet, dressed in a blue floral print outfit, sat on her father’s lap, while Hazel, sporting a baseball cap, chatted with her mom during breaks.
This outing comes as Blunt is taking a one-year hiatus from acting to focus on motherhood.
In July, the “Jungle Cruise” actress discussed the challenges of balancing her career and motherhood on the Table for Two podcast.
Blunt said, “It’s one of those things where people say, ‘How do you balance it?’ I often have this sense that I’m not quite getting it right, you know.”
“But this year, I’m not working. I worked pretty hard last year, and my oldest child is 9, so we’re in the last single-digit year. And I feel like those foundational years are so important when they’re little.”
The 40-year-old actress expressed her desire to spend more quality time with her children. She expressed, “It’s as though they ask, ‘Will you rouse me in the morning? Will you escort me to school? Will you fetch me later? Will you tuck me in?’ And I simply desire to be present for all those moments, even if only briefly. It’s a sensation deep within me.”
While Blunt admitted feeling a sense of “guilt” when she has to be away from her children for work, her 13-year-old husband sees her as a supermom.
In June, the 43-year-old Krasinski revealed on E! News’ Daily Pop that his wife was the “hero at home” and that her support was crucial during the shooting of his hit series “Jack Ryan” over four seasons.
Krasinski conveyed, “Her steadfast encouragement is what made this show a viable endeavor for me.”
“My dedication goes further than simply traveling worldwide and offering unwavering support; it also encompasses the responsibility of ensuring that my children join me when I venture on international filming assignments.”
For her children, Blunt recently joked that they are not impressed by her Hollywood career; they see her simply as “Mom.”
In a cover interview for Harper’s Bazaar UK’s July/August issue, she said, “When I see myself on a billboard, I go completely separate… I go, ‘Who is that?'”
“I can envision my children engaging in a similar pattern – they might casually remark, ‘Oh, there’s Mom,’ without much excitement.”
She included, ‘The thrilling part for them involves my school pick-up and the subsequent trip to the swimming pool.’
So, it seems like Emily Blunt and John Krasinski is enjoying her well-deserved break from the screen, relishing her time with her daughters and making those foundational years count.
