In a post providing details of payments to content creators, Yakarino said, ‘Create. Connect. Bring everyone together on X. We are enabling economic success in fields like content creators. And so far, we have paid our creator community nearly $20 million.’
The recently appointed CEO has claimed that X can achieve profitability by the start of 2024.
What is X Platform Creator Program?
X’s advertising revenue program allows eligible content creators to earn money directly from the platform by sharing in the advertising revenue generated through their content.

The X website states, ‘Ad Revenue Sharing enables you to share in the revenue generated from ads displayed in response to impressions from verified users of your posted content on X. This is part of our effort to help people make a living on X through the recognition of their presence and the value they contribute to the platform through their content.’
What are the eligibility criteria for X Platform Creator Program?
To be eligible for a share of ad revenue from producer ads, you must:
- Join X Premium or become part of verified associations.
- Have at least 5 million organic impressions on your cumulative posts within the last 3 months.
- Have at least 500 followers.
Additionally, X introduced a feature on Fridays that enables content creators to send direct messages (DMs) to customers only. Platform owner Elon Musk announced this new feature, saying, ‘Being able to communicate with your favorite creator is a compelling reason to take membership!
